The PADI Rescue Diver course is one of the most rewarding and challenging continuing education scuba certifications you can sign up for. As well as teaching life-saving techniques, the PADI Rescue Course is also extremely fun and the perfect course for divers looking to build on their problem-solving skills and take their diving to the next level.

In addition to developing your diving skills, the PADI Rescue Diver Course is a prerequisite for PADI Divemaster and Instructor courses, so completing it puts you a step closer to a professional scuba career.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course teaches you how to recognize and respond to dive emergencies, administer emergency oxygen, manage accidents, and even fix common equipment problems – all while putting your mental and physical strength to the test. You’ll learn to recognize the signs of diver stress and to always be prepared to help a fellow dive buddy in need, whether it be at the surface or underwater.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn to:

In British Columbia, the water gets cold so we highly recommend that you wear a drysuit, especially for the Rescue Course which requires students to spend long periods of time in and around the water.

Compared to a wetsuit, a drysuit will keep much warmer, ensuring more comfort and enjoyment from the course. However, while we recommend it, you don't have to wear a drysuit if you don't want to. For those who aren't as interested in drysuit diving, we have warm 14/7mm wetsuits available for use in the ocean. These wetsuits will keep you warm in the cold waters for the most part and can be requested in place of the drysuit for use on your course.

The PADI Emergency First Response Course prepares you to deal with emergencies both in and out of the water using a variety of lifesaving techniques. Through knowledge development and practical exercises, you’ll learn the following lifesaving skills:

• CPR

• First aid

• How to respond to a variety of illnesses and injuries

• Helping someone who is choking

• Handling possible spinal injuries

• Applying bandages and splints
