Mares Mobby's Drysuit Hose Recall

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE! SITECH DRY SUIT INFLATION HOSE SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR REMOVAL OF PLASTIC FLOW RESTRICTING INSERT!

We have been informed by our Drysuit supplier Mobbys that SITECH, who is the producer of the inflation hoses used by Mobbys, announced a RECALL on their low-pressure inflation hoses.

The low-pressure hose contains a flow restricting insert, of color black, blue or green. Reports of an indicated malfunction of the flow restricting insert in the hose for the suit have been submitted to SITECH. The insert may malfunction by dislodgement from the connection valve, potentially causing an obstruction of the air flow.

THEREFORE FOR THE PERSONAL SAFETY OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AND TO AVOID POSSIBLE DANGEROUS ACCIDENTS: STOP ANYONE FROM DIVING WITH A HOSE SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL (OR WITH A DRYSUIT OR ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT THAT HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO SUCH A HOSE) UNTIL THE INSERT HAS BEEN REMOVED. The Mares products involved in this recall, sold from 2006 thru 2009, using the SITECH LOW PRESSURE INFLATION HOSE, are the following:

If you bought a Mares Mobbys suit from us between the 2007 and now and used the Dry suit hose provided please discontinue to dive with that hose until the issue is resolved. The hose has a flow restrictor that needs to be removed.

Failing to do so might cause the hose to malfunction and restrict air through the hose. Please look at the picture to see if your hose has the restrictor installed. If you are not sure come to the dive shop so we can inspect the hose and remedy the situation.
