TDI Deco Procedures

Prerequisites:
Be a Certified Advanced Nitrox Diver
Have a minimum of 50 dives
Have great buoyancy control and be comfortable in the water and in a drysuit
Equipment listed on the Basic Equipment List as displayed in this document (Some items can be rented)

Deco Procedures manuals
classroom Session.
2 checkout training dives no deeper than 80ft
2 decompression training dives no deeper than 110 ft
2 decompression training dives no deeper than 150ft.
Minimum dive time of 150 minutes.

As sport divers,  planned decompression is not something that we do or have been taught. The TDI Decompression Procedures course prepares you for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum operating depth of 45m/150 feet, this course is your first step beyond the normal sport diving limits. Your TDI Instructor will provide you with valuable information and skills, among the topics covered are
Kit set-up
Equipment requirements
Decompression techniques
Decompression breathing gases
Gas management
Contingency planning

The TDI Decompressions Procedures course combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox course form the foundation of all other technical courses.  After these two courses and some additional experience, the stage has been set for you to move onto additional technical levels. Some of the materials you will be using include the TDI Divers Guide to Decompression Procedures, US Navy or Buhlmann Air Decompression Tables.

 Deco Procedures

Basic Equipment List

Main Tank Setup

Twined tanks with a manifold with an isolator valve (Can be rented)
BCD or air cells with harness with a minimum of 45 lbs lift and capable to hold twined tanks
Two full Regulator sets (first and second stages), one set with 7 foot second stage regulator hose. (Can be rented except the 7 foot hose)
SPG
pocket space for spare mask, reels and lift bag
proper weighting system (weight belt, weight harness or integrated)

 Stage (Deco) Tank(s)

Minimum one 40cuFt Tank (Can Be Rented)
One full Regulator set (first and second stages), O2Clean
SPG
Proper stage tank harness

Dry Suit
Reel with minimum 100 ft of line

Two bottom timers and Two depth gauges or a combination of the two e.g. dive computer with gauge setting and depth gauge and watch or two electronic bottom timers/depth gauge or  two dive computers with gauge setting or deco capabilities
